Pass selectable to render a checkbox column (with a select-all header) on desktop and a checkbox per row on mobile, wired straight to table.selection:

Nothing about selection is reimplemented — table.selection is the same object createDataTable gave you, so range selection, isSelected, isSelectable and clearing the selection all work exactly as they do without this component in the way.
